SPI, OMNEXUS TO FORM STRATEGIC ALLIANCE

DÜSSELDORF (October 26, 2001) – The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI) and Omnexus, the global eMarketplace for the plastics industry, today announced their intent to form a strategic alliance.

“Through this exciting alliance,” said SPI President Donald K. Duncan, “SPI members will be able to learn first-hand about the benefits of Omnexus through our association’s publications, seminars, meetings and Web site.” In return, he said, Omnexus will help educate the industry about the benefits of SPI membership and products and services through its own Web site and communications network.

“SPI is the premier plastics industry association, and we are delighted to have its endorsement,” said Omnexus Vice President David Jukes. “This alliance provides a tremendous opportunity to foster learning and understanding about the benefits and cost savings Internet technology can bring to plastics processors.”

The executives said that details of the arrangement will be worked out over the coming months, with additional announcements to follow.
