WASHINGTON (June 26, 2002) - The Film and Bag Federation (FBF) continues its trend as the fastest-growing business unit of The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI), announcing the addition of nine new member companies.

The new FBF members are: Orange Plastics, Compton, C; Com-Pac International, Inc., Carbondale, IL; Louisiana Plastics Converting Corporation, West Monroe, LA; Kidder-Comexi, Agawam, MA; Handgards, Inc., El Paso, TX; Color Resolutions, Inc., Cincinnati, OH; PIZ Industries, Nashville, TN; ABBA Rubber International, Cincinnati, OH, and Plastics Research Associates, Houston, TX.

FBF Chairman Fredy Steng of Pliant Corporation in Wilbraham, MA, noted: "These companies are representative of the kinds of firms we have in our membership. We hope that more companies like them will join us, contributing to our strong national voice for the plastic film and bag industry."

"No other industry organization brings together such a broad group of companies from across the country, that is, firms of all sizes from one end of the manufacturing spectrum to the other," he continued. "It is FBF's goal to be as inclusive as possible, and our programs and activities reflect the different industry segments we represent."

The U.S. film and sheet industries employ more than 84,000 workers. U.S. shipments in these sectors total nearly $23.6 billion. For more information, visit www.plasticbag.com.
