SPI THERMOFORMING INSTITUTE ANNOUNCES 2002 "TINA" AWARD WINNERS

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA (March 15, 2002) - Products and parts for applications ranging from packaging for lifesaving medical devices to reusable containers for the shipping of bananas were among the winners of The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc.'s (SPI) Thermoforming Institute National Awards (TINA) for 2002.

The awards recognize superior manufacturing quality, innovation and use of materials in thermoformed parts and are judged on aesthetics, creativity, function and design.

The overall winner was Kintz Plastics, Inc., which entered a heavy-gauge thermoformed assembly consisting of eight pressure-formed parts used to cover Eastman Kodak's latest Picture Maker Kiosks located in leading chain stores across the country.

The awards were announced during the Thermoforming Institute's annual winter meeting, held March 3-6 in Phoenix.

SPI's Thermoforming Institute is composed of presidents and CEOs of companies significantly engaged in the manufacture of custom thermoformed products. Its mission is to promote the growth and prestige of the thermoforming industry.
