![]() Contact: Paula Weis FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SPI ELECTS NEW OFFICERS WASHINGTON (May 6, 2004) - The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI) today announced the results of a special election held to fill Executive Board officer positions. Former SPI Treasurer Frank Tortorici, group president, North America/global general manager, flouropolymers, Atofina Chemicals, Inc., was elected Secretary of the SPI Executive Board. Jane Austin, global business director, DuPont Dow Elastomers, LLC, will replace Mr. Tortorici as SPI Treasurer. The officers join SPI Executive Board Chairman Paul Appelblom of Jatco, Inc. and Vice Chairman E. Niles Kenyon of The Conair Group, and will serve in their new capacities until December 31, 2004. Tortorici and Austin were chosen by the SPI 2004 Nominating Committee, including Chairman Robert Ackley, Davis-Standard, Roger Klouda, MSI Mold Builders, Jim Lammers, Dart Container Corp., Joe Bergen, Sajar Plastics, Larry Galpin, Daikin America and Don Drummond, Basell. The special mid-term election was held to fill an officer vacancy created when former SPI Secretary Rich Angiullo retired from DuPont as vice president and general manager of their fluoroproducts business unit.
