PRODUCT REGULATORY TASK GROUP

Position Statement on Plant Security1

The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI) encourages member companies to evaluate the security of their facilities and make improvements as deemed appropriate. This includes creating policies, procedures and practices, and conducting a security vulnerability analysis to determine potential security risks to plant facilities, employees, and communities where they operate. Where these risks are identified, member companies should create and implement actions to address the security concerns. SPI member companies are encouraged to share security "best practices" with all of the membership.

Chemical Homeland Security Resources

1 September 11, 2001 was a tragic day in the history of our country. Since that time, SPI and its membership have had to focus on the issue of "security". Can (or could) something similar happen at a member company facility?
